Hisani Kreiser is the recipient of the Innovative Service Award. Under Hisani’s guidance, the Office of the Vice-Provost, Faculty & Academic Life (VPFAL) has seen remarkable improvements in its operations in the areas of immigration and recruitment. She has spearheaded the development of an Academic Foreign National Intake Form, which has streamlined the work permit submission process and reduced turnaround times. This initiative has not only benefited academic units but also engaged foreign academics more effectively.

Additionally, Hisani has created immigration-specific resources which has increased transparency and accessibility to vital information for non-Canadian recruits. Her creative problem-solving skills have been crucial in navigating the ever-changing immigration landscape, ensuring the University can continue to attract and retain top international talent. Hisani has also overseen the development of resources that facilitate the creation of faculty job ads, ensuring compliance with immigration and policy requirements. Her efforts have drastically reduced the approval times for job postings, demonstrating her commitment to excellence and innovation. Hisani’s expertise and advocacy have been pivotal in supporting the University’s ability to recruit and retain faculty members and librarians.
