Acting Dean, Dalla Lana School of Public Health

Professor Audrey Laporte was appointed Acting Dean of the Dalla Lana School of Public Health from January 1, 2026 to June 30, 2026, while the current Dean, Adalsteinn Brown, is on research leave.     

Audrey Laporte is a Professor of Health Economics and holds cross-appointments at the Department of Economics, Faculty of Arts & Science and the Faculty of Dentistry. Professor Laporte served as the Director of the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation (IHPME) from 2019 to 2025. She currently serves as Director of the Canadian Centre for Health Economics, which is based at IHPME. Her research focuses on the development of micro-economic theory and the application of micro-econometric methods to address questions of policy interest to health and health care.  

Professor Laporte completed her BA at the University of Toronto and her PhD at the University of Guelph.
