Re:  Call for Nominations for the Advisory Committee on the Appointment of a Vice-President and Provost

On February 28, 2015 Professor Cheryl Regehr will be completing her term as Vice-President and Provost. Her 18-month appointment was designed to ensure continuity of strong leadership during the administrative transition leading up to and following my taking office, and she is eligible for reappointment and for continuation in her role.

I am writing to call for nominations of individuals to serve on the Advisory Committee for the Vice-President and Provost. The membership of the Advisory Committee will comprise:
 6 to 8 members of the teaching staff, including academic administrators,
 1 member of the administrative staff,
 1 alumnus/a,
 1 Lieutenant Governor-in-Council member of the Governing Council and
 2 students.

The Committee’s first task will be to undertake a review and advise me on the Office of the Vice-President and Provost and on priorities that should be considered for the Provost. Given that Professor Regehr is eligible to be re-appointed, the Committee will also consider whether to recommend re-appointment or to proceed with a search.

Mr. Louis Charpentier, Secretary of the Governing Council, will serve as secretary to the Committee. Ms Sheree Drummond, Deputy Secretary, will also provide support.

Nominations for membership on the Advisory Committee should be sent by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 2014 using the confidential online form available at: https://uoftgc.wufoo.com/forms/nomination-form-vicepresident-and-provost/

Questions should be directed to the Secretary at l.charpentier@utoronto.ca.
