The Office of the Vice-President and Provost is pleased to present Stepping Up to the Challenge: Recruiting and Retaining for Diversity on May 11 2005 from 8.15 am-2:00 pm (breakfast and lunch included) at 89 Chestnut Residence. This will be an invaluable event for those involved in any aspect of faculty recruitment, faculty retention or in chairing search committees. Please ensure this invitation is extended to these individuals.

Our keynote speaker will be Dr. Mary C. Gentile (formerly of the Harvard Business School and Arthur Andersen). Her presentation will be entitled "How we learn who we are…and what we think: The essential kinship between diversity and education".

Her address will be followed by a panel discussion moderated by Dean Pekka Sinervo entitled Recruiting and Retaining the Great Minds. Participants will include representatives from the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering, University of Toronto at Mississauga, and the Faculty of Social Work, addressing issues such as:

Changing Meanings of Equity and Diversity
