Acting Dean, Faculty of Information (iSchool)

Professor Marsha Chechik was appointed Acting Dean of the Faculty of Information beginning July 2022 for a six-month period while the current Dean, Professor Wendy Duff, is on administrative leave. Professor Chechik currently serves as the Chair and Graduate Chair of the Department of Computer Science at the Faculty of Arts and Science.

Professor Chechik’s research interests are in the application of formal methods to improve the quality of software. She has authored numerous papers on software specification and verification, computer safety, assurance and security, and product line engineering.

Professor Chechik received her PhD in Computer Science from the University of Maryland. She was hired as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Toronto and is cross-appointed to the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
