Dean, Faculty of Dentistry
Professor Daniel Haas was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry beginning July 2012. Prior to his role as Dean, Professor Haas served for eleven years as the Associate Dean, Clinical Sciences. Professor Haas’ administrative experience includes serving as Immediate Past-President of the Association of Canadian Faculties of Dentistry, President of the Canadian Academy of Dental Anaesthesia, as well as serving on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Dentist Anesthesiologists.
Professor Haas is an internationally renowned expert in dental anesthesia. He has received accolades such as the International Association for Dental Research (IADR) Distinguished Scientist Award for Dental Research in Pharmacology; the Heidbrink Award from the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology; the Leonard Monheim Distinguished Service Award from the American Society of Dentist Anesthesiologists; an Honorary Membership Award from the Canadian Dental Association (CDA); and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in the Dental Sciences.
Professor Haas received a BSc, a DDS, a BScD in Anesthesia, and a PhD in Pharmacology, all from the University of Toronto.
