Re: Retirement Options Information Sessions


Faculty members and librarians who wish to retire on June 30, 2007 must give notice of their intention by July 1, 2006. Now is the time to remind faculty members and librarians in your unit to start thinking about retirement options so they have enough time to gather sufficient information to make an informed decision.

All faculty members and librarians who - as of June 30, 2007 - are within ten years of normal retirement have been invited to attend one of the following information sessions regarding retirement options available to them:

Friday, March 24, 2:00-4:00 p.m., Room 1200, Bahen Centre, 40 St George Street Friday, March 31, 10:00-12:00 noon, Room AA160, New Council Chamber, UTSC Friday, April 7, 1:00-3:00 p.m., Room K130, Kaneff Centre, UTM

Information on retirement options and resources, including a copy of the application form to enter the Phased Retirement Program, can be found at:

Please note that, if a faculty member or librarian wishes to apply to take an earned research and study leave during a three-year phased retirement program, s/he must apply at the time of giving notice of intention to enter into phased retirement so that the leave can be considered and approved in the context of the planning process for the phased retirement.
