As part of general pandemic management, the University of Toronto will be collecting information regarding absences of both staff and faculty members. Staff member absences are being tracked through the HRIS system as indicated by the memo by Professor Angela Hildyard, sent to P&D and divisional CAOs on Aug 19, 2009. Faculty members are directed to inform their Chair on their first day of absence due to a suspected H1N1 illness in order to allow for planning for class cancellations or alternate modes of class delivery. Chairs are directed to report absences to their designated HR office so that we have information on the impact of H1N1 on the University.
