Professor Pekka Sinervo ended his term as Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Science on February 29, 2008. As announced on December 4, 2007, Professor Meric Gertler has been appointed Interim Dean of the Faculty until June 30, 2009 or a new Dean takes office (PDAD&C # 34).

In accordance with Section 60 of the Policy on Appointment of Academic Administrators, President David Naylor has appointed a committee to recommend the appointment of a Dean of the Faculty. The composition of the committee is as follows:
