To recognize and celebrate teaching excellence at the University of Toronto, I would like to draw your attention to the following prominent teaching awards which are now accepting nominations.  I would encourage you to bring forward the names of colleagues whose achievement merit consideration.

University of Toronto Awards

President’s Teaching Awards recognize colleagues with sustained excellence in teaching, research in teaching, and the integration of teaching and research, whose achievements are truly outstanding for this special form of recognition by the University.  Recipients of the President’s Teaching Award form the U of T’s Teaching Academy. Provincial and National Awards

3M Teaching Fellowships recognize teaching excellence and educational leadership of faculty from across Canada. Deadline for nominations: November 17, 2006.  For more information, visit the 3M Teaching Fellowship web site at: www.mcmaster.ca/3Mteachingfellowships/index2.html

Alan Blizzard Award is designed to stimulate and reward collaboration in teaching. Application deadline: January 12, 2007.  recognize outstanding teachers and academic librarians in Ontario universities.

Deadline for nominations is February 23, 2007.

National Technology Innovation Awards honour the achievements of educators who use technology to enhance the learning environment for their students. Nominations for the 2007 award will open in November 2007 www.thelearningpartnership.ca/NTIA/NTIA_2006.htm
