|Re:||Workshop on Internal Controls and Safeguarding Against Fraud|
I am writing to invite you to attend a Workshop on Internal Controls and Safeguarding Against Fraud, on Thursday, November 9, , in the Simcoe Hall Boardroom, following PDAD&C. Lunch will be provided.
This workshop will include a discussion about the relationship between risk and internal controls by focusing on the five components of internal control that exist at the departmental/unit level as well as centrally, that help mitigate financial and operational risk. It will also include a discussion about the role of internal audit and the type of services it offers. The workshop will then address fraud and financial impropriety including University policy and procedures, the “red flags” of fraud and how to safeguard against it. The session will conclude with a case study about the topics covered during the session.
You can register on-line for this workshop at:
If you have any questions about the workshop, please contact Carol Robb at firstname.lastname@example.org. We hope to see you on November 9.
