|RE:||ORF "Early Researcher Award" Reminder|
Further to PDAD&C #47 and #60 from Vice-President John Challis, this is to remind you of the approaching deadline for the ORF Early Research Award (ERA) competition. The ERA is open to recently-appointed Ontario researchers, and is an excellent opportunity for young faculty to build their research teams of graduate students, post-doctoral fellows and research associates. The award is up to $100,000, based on the provision of matching funds of up to $50,000.
We would ask that researchers who plan to submit an application contact Scott Shank in the GRIP office, (firstname.lastname@example.org mailto:email@example.com or 416-946-0447) as soon as possible to express their interest.
Applications must be received in the GRIP office by no later than February 20 in order to go through administrative review and institutional endorsement. Applicants who wish to have the benefit of a thorough editorial review and feedback should submit their draft applications to GRIP by February 13th.
Final submissions should include:
- 9 hard copies of the full application;
- an electronic copy of the full application;
- an electronic copy of the internal budget template; and
- a hard copy of the GRIP Application Attachment with appropriate divisional signatures.
Following final review and institutional endorsement, GRIP will forward applications to the Ministry of Research and Innovation.
Please see GRIP’s ERA webpage for more information about the award and internal application
Many thanks and best of luck to our faculty members in this competition!
