I am writing to invite you to attend a Workshop on Negotiation and Conflict Resolution, to be held on Tuesday, March 7, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., in the Council Chamber, Simcoe Hall, 27 King’s College Circle.
This is a pilot session that will be incorporated into the training program for new academic administrators. This year, however, we are opening the session up to all Principals, Deans, Academic Directors and Chairs, as well as Human Resources Managers.
The first part of the workshop will introduce basic concepts in negotiation and conflict resolution with guest speaker The Honourable George Adams, Q.C. George Adams is a former superior court judge, law professor, counsel and agency head. He is a mediator and the author of Canadian Labour Law and Mediating Justice: Legal Dispute Negotiations. The second part of the workshop will include the opportunity to apply these basic concepts through discussion of case studies. Here is an outline of the agenda:

9:00 Negotiation and Conflict Resolution (The Honourable George Adams)
