I am pleased to announce the following appointments in the Provost’s Office:
Ms. Leslie Bush has been appointed as the Assistant Vice-Provost, Health Sciences Sector effective May 1, 2005. This new position is the senior administrative resource supporting the work of the Council of Health Science and Social Work Deans, assisting with implementation of the new Clinical Faculty Policy, and managing the portfolio of affiliation agreements and related contractual interactions with partner healthcare institutions. Most recently Ms. Bush was serving as Executive Assistant to the Dean of Medicine. Dr. Sara-Jane Finlay has been appointed as the Director, Faculty Renewal effective September 1, 2005. Most recently Dr. Finlay has been providing consulting services to the Office of the Vice-President and Provost in the area of proactive faculty recruitment and to the Office of the Vice-President, Human Resources and Equity in the area of employment equity. She has also been a Lecturer in the Centre for Media and Visual Culture at the University of Toronto at Mississauga. She holds a PhD (Communications & Media Studies) and an MA (Women’s Studies) from Loughborough University, as well as a BAA (Radio and Television Arts) from Ryerson and a BA (English Language and Literature) from Huron College, University of Western Ontario. Ms. Rosanne Lopers-Sweetman has been appointed as the Director, Special Projects effective August 23, 2005. The Director, Special Projects is part of the strategic planning team of the Office of the Vice-President and Provost and is responsible for assisting, identifying and responding to the objectives and priorities of the Office. Ms. Lopers-Sweetman most recently was the Assistant Dean, Administration and Finance in the Faculty of Nursing. She has extensive experience in various central and divisional administrative roles at the University of Toronto, including in the Office of the Governing Council and the Office of the Vice-Provost and Assistant Vice-President (Planning and Budget). She has a Masters of Arts (Educational Administration/Higher Education Group) from OISE/UT, a BA (General Arts) from Calvin College and a BA (journalism) from Ryerson.
