|Re:||Grades 11 and 12 Mathematics Curricular Reviews|
The Ministry of Education, through the Council of Ontario Universities, recently provided draft documents to representatives at Ontario universities, outlining the major revisions recommended for the grade 11 and 12 math curriculum (attached). Feedback was requested through the Council of Ontario Universities, via the COU Mathematics Review Task Force, as part of a consultation process.
Alison Weir (UTM Statistics), has represented the University on the Task Force and we have worked hard to engage all affected people within the institutions since the proposed revisions were circulated last month.
Resulting from this process, the attached memo has been circulated by the COU Mathematics Review Task Force and provides background and recommendations for the current mathematics review.
As you can see, the changes could potentially affect many programs, positively or negatively. While faculty in many Divisions are engaged in the consultation, I would like to ensure that all affected departments are aware of this process.
