I am pleased to announce that Dr. Sara-Jane Finlay has been hired in a consulting capacity in the Provost’s Office. Under the direction of Professor Edith Hillan, Vice-Provost, Academic, Dr. Finlay will be engaged in a number of specific projects related to proactive recruitment strategies. 

Dr. Finlay has a PhD in Media Sociology (with a minor topic in Gender and Sexual Identity) from Loughborough University in the United Kingdom.  She recently provided consulting services to the Office of the Vice-President, Human Resources and Equity, and was contracted to write the Employment Equity Report for the University of Toronto in fulfillment of the Federal Contractors Program.  Dr. Finlay is also a lecturer at the University of Toronto at Mississauga in Visual Culture and Communication.  Dr. Finlay will be working on a part-time basis and will be located in Room 232, Simcoe Hall.  She can be reached at 978-1855 or sarajane.finlay@utoronto.ca.

In the new year, Professor Edith Hillan and I will be developing a long-term plan for the faculty recruitment portfolio.
