|Re:||Web Space Coordination|
This memo follows-up on the feedback regarding the formation of the Web Space Steering Committee (PDADC #96 - University Web Space Co-ordination).
The Web Space Steering Committee and Project Office are first steps in co-ordinating institutional Web-related activities. The breadth of the issues – e.g., navigation, information architecture, consistency, accessibility, branding, security, managing content, search capabilities, archiving and retention policies, applications development… – requires broad representation from the University community.
Web Space Constituency Reference Group
To increase representation we are forming a constituency-based reference group. This group, whose members will be appointed by divisions, will provide the opportunity for broader consultation regarding Web-space issues, and will act as a sounding board for institutional initiatives.
The Web Space Steering Committee seeks nominations from divisions for representation on the reference group. Please forward your division’s nominee to Marden Paul (email@example.com) by Friday, July 29.
Web Space Working Groups
In addition to the Reference Group, there will be a large number of Web-related initiatives over the coming months and years. Each initiative will require input from experts and interested persons from across the University. As these projects or topics are addressed, we will seek input from divisions for participation in project teams. Project information will be presented on the Provost’s Web site in the IT Priority: Web Space section of the Institutional IT menu. http://www.provost.utoronto.ca/English/page-6-14434-1.html
These working groups are intended to increase participation in the redevelopment of our Web space, and to improve the communication and co-ordination of activities and initiatives.
