In a community as large as the University there will be members who have close personal relations. These are not normally the business of the University, except in exceptional circumstances. Such circumstances include where a conflict of interest with respect to University business may arise, or where there is harassment of some form.
The Sexual Harassment Officer, Ms. Paddy Stamp, has prepared guidelines to assist you in dealing with such situations. The documents include an information sheet for members of our community on this topic, and protocols on dealing with such situations when they arise.
These are clearly delicate, but important issues. It is important that when situations such as this arise they are dealt with in a fair manner. I hope that the protocols will assist you in such situations.
