RE:   Appointment of Sheldon Levy as Interim Vice-Provost, Students

I am pleased to announce that Vice-President Sheldon Levy has agreed to serve as Interim Vice-Provost, Students, effective April 1, 2002 to December 31, 2002, or until such time as the new Vice-President and Provost names the permanent Vice-Provost, Students, whichever comes first. Sheldon will serve in this capacity while continuing with his normal duties as Vice-President, Government and Institutional Relations.

Sheldon served as Vice-President for Institutional Affairs at York University and President of Sheridan College before joining U of T on January 1, 2002. He brings to this position considerable experience and knowledge of the issues covered by the Vice-Provost, Students' portfolio.

I welcome Sheldon to our team and hope that you will offer him your support and assistance as he takes up his new interim role.
